About the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association
OCTLA was established in 1963 and has since been pursuing its mission to provide superior education and training for attorneys‚ facilitate access to the collective knowledge‚ experience‚ and resources of its members and to promote and support the laws that protect access to the civil justice system and correct injustice. The Association has several standing committees which help direct it. These committees include:
- Community Outreach/Social Events;
- The Gavel;
- Membership; and

The Top Gun committee both organizes and executes the annual Top Gun Trial Lawyer of the Year awards program‚ which includes live and silent auctions to benefit a chosen local charity. In 2011‚ the charities were DSAOC Down Syndrome Association of Orange County (DSAOC) and United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County (UCP-OC).
